Singing three Sundays a month throughout the program year—September through Mother’s Day—the Diamond Lake Choir is one of the hallmark ministries of Diamond Lake Lutheran Church. The choir sings a variety of music from across the centuries: timeless classics, a cappella pieces, contemporary anthems with instrumentalists, and other pieces from various Christian traditions. Several new members have joined the choir, and it continues to invite newcomers. All ages are welcome. If you have an inkling to sing, we already have a space, folder, and a robe for you! Rehearsals are typically three Sunday mornings each month at 8:15 am followed by participating in worship at 9:30 am. Please email Choir Director Dr. Bruce Gleason for further information.
Carillon Choir (Adult and Teen Bell Choir)
The Carillon Choir welcomes new members, regardless of experience. Handbells range in size, with the smallest being 2 inches in diameter and the largest 10.25 inches. There is plenty of room for everyone to play and you don’t need to know how to read music to be a part of it!
Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 6:30 pm. Then, play bells during worship one Sunday a month, October to May, and during special services such as the Advent music service, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, and Good Friday. Contact Chuck Linderkamp to get involved.
Children’s Bell Choir (Grades 3–6)
The Children’s Handbell Choir welcomes students from third grade to sixth grade. Students do not need to know how to read music to be a part of it.
Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 5:30 pm. Then, play bells during worship one Sunday a month, October to May, and for special services such as the Advent music service, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, and Good Friday. Contact Chuck Linderkamp for more information.
Do you sing or play a musical instrument? You are invited to share your talents during worship. Contact the church office to coordinate with the Music and Worship Committee to select a date.
Every year, the children of Diamond Lake, from fourth graders all the way through high school, come together to put on an original musical. While the actors begin learning the songs in October during Wednesday night programming, the majority of the rehearsals take place after Christmas with performances the final weekend in February. We have seen kids form lasting bonds from participating in this incredible program.
