Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe
Lead Pastor
Andrea Roske-Metcalfe has served as Senior Pastor at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church since Palm Sunday of 2023. A graduate of Union Theological Seminary in New York, she feels passionately about preaching with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other, the art of improv as a lens for corporate worship, the inclusion of children as full members of the Body of Christ, and community organizing as a natural extension of the life of a community of faith.
Pastor Andrea is a writer and storyteller. She’s a three-time Moth StorySLAM winner and the 2017 Twin Cities Moth GrandSLAM champion. She offers workshops on the craft of storytelling for churches and community organizations. She has written for Church Anew, Fidelia’s Sisters, Bearings Online, and 1517 Media, including Kids Celebrate: All Creation Sings, a four-booklet series introducing young people to the liturgy, hymns, and inner-workings of the hymnal.
Pastor Andrea has served previous calls as Country Coordinator for ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission in Mexico City; Pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, MN; and Director of Children’s Ministry at Christ Church Lutheran in Minneapolis. She lives with her husband and their two daughters in the Keewaydin neighborhood of south Minneapolis.
