The Minneapolis Women of the ELCA group is hosting their annual Fall Gathering at Diamond Lake Lutheran for the first time this year on Saturday, November 2, from 8 am–4:30 pm.
This day-long event features Keynote Speaker, Dr. Jacqueline Bussie. Dr. Bussie’s books, Love Without Limits and Outlaw Christian, have won numerous awards and critical acclaim. An active servant-leader in the ELCA, she has spent the last twenty years teaching and empowering others through her work.
Event Highlights:
- Hear from Dr. Bussie on practicing radical, inclusive love.
- Choose from seven interactive sessions on climate ethics, personal storytelling, aging with purpose, conversations on race, welcoming immigrants and refugees, fostering unity and love, and global ministries.
- Connect with Twin Cities women over coffee, guided sessions, and renewal worship.
- Discover your impact through Explore Stations on social justice and spiritual growth, with speakers and ministry partners to inspire action.
- Coffee, meals, complimentary massage therapy, fair-trade shopping, and music with Rachel Kurtz.
- Participate in on-site service and craft projects and join the Women of the ELCA Minneapolis area synod planning session.
- Free childcare and kids’ camp with puppet shows, STEAM activities, and more.
Diamond Lakers (of all genders!) will be needed at this event.
We will have several opportunities to help out including assisting people in finding their way around the building, serving lunch, and more. In appreciation of our providing this work, WELCA will be making material and monetary donations to our LSS Welcome Home ministry.
A sign-up list with various lengths of shifts will be available soon. In the meantime, please contact Kristine Spanier, Director of Communications, with questions or to add your name to the list. Let’s show this large group the warm welcome Diamond Lake Lutheran is known for!
The Fall Gathering is open to everyone who identifies as a woman. Learn more, including details on pay-what-you-can registration, at: https://mplswomenofelca.org
